Salas is a Macalester graduate from the Class of 1993, with a BA in Art, and a K-12 Art Education License. Salas also received an MFA from the NY Academy of Art, and has been an Assistant Professor at Ripon College since 2006. For Salas places, past and present, are always haunted ghost stories. His art portrays these places and the people that inhabit them. They are at first glance the most pedestrian of realities. Like memories, detail is slowly replaced with things less tangible. They become filled with emotion and mood.
